Standing Committees
The Standing Committees of the Board of Trustees include the following:
Committee on Academic AffairsCommittee on Physical Plant
Committee on Finance
Committee on Student Life
Committee on Development
Each of these committees meets prior to the regularly scheduled meeting of the Board. Membership on the committees, with the exception of the Finance Committee, is limited to Trustees of the University. Although not stipulated in the Bylaws, it has been the custom of late for each committee to accord non-voting representation to a faculty member, as well as a graduate student and an undergraduate student, who attend all but executive sessions of the committee. The faculty representatives to each committee are appointed by the Academic Senate. These committee representatives serve in addition to the three officially elected faculty representatives to the Board.
Only trustees may vote on action items, but representatives should participate in discussion. The cognizant Vice President for each administrative area of the University serves as Secretary of the standing committee related to his/her area of responsibility. One of the Trustees chairs the committee. (Memo from Vincent P. Walter, Jr., Secretary, Board of Trustees, to Thomas Mastroianni, chair, Committee on Committees and Rules, April 10, 1996.)Faculty appointed to serve on the standing committees of the Board are as follows:
